It started at the table
Hopwaarts did not begin in an office. It began on the road. On journeys through Europe, Ukraine and countries beyond, the same moment kept coming back: a table with good food, a beer you remembered, a glass of wine or something stronger, shared with the people around you.
Travel, shared tables and flavours
Evenings like that are how you really get to know a place. What is on the table tells you something about the country, the season and the people who made it. A local beer you cannot find anywhere else, a wine poured by the person who made it, a spirit crafted with obvious care. Those flavours stayed, and so did the curiosity: who makes this, and why exactly this way?
Belgian breweries, French vineyards
Two kinds of visits turned that curiosity into something concrete. In Belgium it was breweries, where you see how much patience and skill goes into a single bottle and where brewers talk about their recipes with quiet pride. In France it was vineyards, where you walk between the vines and understand that a wine starts with the soil, the weather and the choices of its maker. That is where it became clear that the best drinks often come from small producers who deserve to travel further than their own region.
Why Hopwaarts exists
Many of those drinks never reach a shop back home. Not because they are any less good, but because the route from a small producer to a retailer in another country is long and complicated. Hopwaarts was created to shorten that route: to discover distinctive producers and bring their drinks to professional buyers. With respect for craftsmanship, genuine relationships and an eye for drinks with character.
What we do today
Hopwaarts is a distributor of beer, wine and spirits for business customers only. We connect independent producers with beer shops, wine merchants, liquor stores, specialist retailers, hospitality businesses and other verified professional buyers. You order and pay with Hopwaarts and receive confirmation, invoice and service from us; the producer or logistics partner delivers directly. Not everything we tasted along the way is available from us: a product only joins our range once the arrangements with its producer are in place.
