The old cheese warehouse in Limmen is home to craft beer with a story of its own. Hopwaarts welcomes Bierbrouwerij Dampegheest as a new partner for the drinks trade, hospitality and retail.

A family brewery in the old cheese warehouse

Bierbrouwerij Dampegheest is an independent family brewery in Limmen, North Holland. It has been brewing in the village's former cheese warehouse since 2008, together with a regular group of volunteers.

Gold for the Weizen

Dampegheest Weizen, a hefeweizen, won gold at the Dutch Beer Challenge 2026. The range also includes Manus, an easy-drinking beer, Tarwe Tripel, Skoftig (dubbel), Lentebock, Alkmaars Blondje, Merakels (tripel), Zware Hufter, Oikenbock (autumn bock), Imperial Stout and Bekem, a lightly smoked amber beer.
